Wired Serif (2020)
The typeface symbolizes captivity through the visual reference to a barbed wire fence. Through the connections between the letters, an individual character emerges with each use. The letters become a visual construct that speaks through contrasts in search of connection. In the process of drawing the typeface, it was important to create forms in which they would find themselves in a particular style and speak to each other. The first letters were sketched with a marker and after that with a spraycan, to allow the tool I use affect the shape. With the provocative and specific shapes that are created, the Wired Serif will be very dominant in every use. The result is a character that has been influenced by his tools, taking an emotional position within a conceptual context.
