REACH OUT (2021)

A print that expands to explore the newly defined 2-metre space we live in and create a moment of connection.

The expanded print is two metres long and shows a narrative of touch. A moment of touch that was so banal to us, but is no longer. The print is meant for a table where two people face each other, both reading this photo sequence of touch, creating a new moment and a new intimacy between these people.

An extension that symbolises distance and yet brings us together.

Inspired by works of Rebecca Horn who is a German sculptor, action artist and filmmaker. After being isolated and confined to a bed by an illness as a jung artist, she quickly became aware of the limits and radius of her body, which led to her first works in which she reached out through body extensions. Creating a relationship between body and space inspired me to define new spaces we live in.
