NAS Special Edition
This is a special music edition dedicated to Nasir Jones. His music appeals to many people and he helped to be a relevant part of the hip-hop scene trying to understand what is happening around us. His eagerness to spread hope in Queensbridge and his attitude that we must free ourselves from thoughts, lead me to my core statement.
“We are all prisoners of our thoughts and our social status.“
In a prison, the only contact outside is through the phone, where you can hear Nas music in my box. His music is the way out of our own prison of thoughts. In the context of this concept I made a typeface called Wired Serif. To translate captivity in forms, I worked with extreme contrasts to create tension. The letters connect with each other and form a reference to a barbed wire.
